A Text Link Ads Alternative
I wanted to sell some text links across a few of my sites, but I didn’t want to use Text Link Ads. I don’t like the idea of splitting the revenue 50/50 with the broker. I wanted to find a more efficient system where I could buy links cheaply and keep a large percentage of the revenue of any link sales.
I started looking at other networks today. I don’t like how Text Link Brokers doesn’t allow you to advertise that you’re on their network for the sake of secrecy. I mean, are they really naive enough to believe that a representative from a search engine won’t sign up as an advertiser and see their inventory?
I had heard some good things about Link Worth in a forum I belong to, so I decided to give them a try.

They have 70/30 and 50/50 revshare models. I opted for the 70/30 revshare because I didn’t think the added value of being a “featured” site is worth 20% of my revenue. The link code is on a small site which sees about 100 uniques per day so it will be interesting to see if it gets any interest. I may add the Link Worth code to WageRank assuming that I decide to remain with them.
I’m under the impression that Link Worth is less stringent than Text Link Ads and Text Link Brokers in terms of the sites they allow in the network. If you have a small site that was denied access into these other programs, I’m willing to bet Link Worth will be happy to accommodate it.
Link Worth also has an affiliate program, which is nice because I can add advertisements for their program here on WageRank. One of the main reasons why I started looking for an alternative to Text Link Ads is because I have a feeling their affiliate program is becoming saturated (if it’s not already). Almost every SEO-related blog has the “get $100 of Text Link Ads” banner and I wasn’t looking forward to to joining the club.
I just created my account today so I don’t have too much feedback to report, but I’ll post a more formal review once I get some more experience with their system. My initial impression is that the interface and documentation needs an overhaul. I have a couple support tickets in with them so we’ll also see how responsive they are to questions.

I was shocked when I found out how much Text Link Ads was keeping. The links they did sell, had nothing to do with my site and their Link Tool gives estimates way higher than what they sold them for.
